The Vale Clinic has assembled a team of experts skilled in the management of orthopaedic and rheumatological disorders. The Clinic is able to provide opinion and treatment to patients with a wide range of conditions- including hip and knee joint replacements, arthroscopy and ligament replacement.

Integral to this service we provide specialist clinics:-

Spinal clinic - Mr Paul Rhys Davies, Mr John Howes, Mr Sashin Ahuja and Mr Alwyn Jones are specialist spinal surgeons who provide expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with spinal disease. These include degenerative conditions of both the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as spinal disc lesions and corrective spinal surgery.

Knee clinic – Mr David Pemberton, Mr Chris Wilson and Mr Rhys Williams are specialists in this area and are able to provide expert opinion on the following surgical procedures: Meniscal surgery, joint replacement, ligament reconstruction and revision, chondral defects, patella correction.

Shoulder clinic - Mr Geoff Graham, Mr Rhys Williams and Ms Awen Iorwerth are specialist in shoulder injury and they are able to provide expert opinion on the following surgical procedures: shoulder instability, shoulder impingement, shoulder replacement and tendon pathology.

Rheumatology clinic - Dr Jim Martin and Dr Ceril Rhys-Williams specialise with patients with disorders of the musculo-skeletal system, which include suspected inflammatory connective tissue disease, are seen by our rheumatologists. Treatments often involve disease modifying drugs and physiotherapy.

Ankle clinic - Mr Rhys Thomas, is a specialist ankle and foot surgeon who provides expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with ankle injuries. The aim of the service is to provide a complete and comprehensive clinical management programme for lower limb conditions.

Hip clinic - Mr Stuart Roy and Mr Chris Wilson are specialists at the Vale Clinic the surgeons form part of a multidisciplinary team working with the physiotherapists and podiatrist to offer analysis and treatment of all disorders and injuries of the foot and ankle.
