Cardiff's new conference venue draws international names

Cardiff's newest conference venue draws international names to Wales. The Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, Wales' leading 4 star independent hotel,has placed itself firmly among the top tier as a sought after conference and events destination, with the opening of one of the largest state-of-the-art conference facilities in the country.

The new Castle Suite - takes its name from the views overlooking Hensol Castle and provides conferencing facilities for up to 700 delegates theatre-style, 550 seated delegates for a large-scale conference, and 420 for a sit down banquet or dinner. It boasts the very latest new media presentation equipment, is fully air conditioned, and has panoramic views from all windows, as well as a new bar and restaurant facility, which is directly linked to the centre.

The area can also be broken down into smaller sections, increasing flexibility and allowing for two or three events to be hosted at the same time.

Commenting on the new facilities, Vale Resort Marketing Director, Paul Beddoe, said he is extremely pleased with the excellent feedback already being received.

It really does add another string to our bow as we seek to lead the way in providing the much needed high-end conferencing facilities that South Wales needs to attract the national and international brands.”

Over £1million has been invested to make the resort one of only a handful in the region to offer such a large capacity. The new Castle Suite brings the total choice of multi functional meeting rooms at the resort to 10. This is in addition to the on site leisure, spa, golf, dining and accommodation facilities.

Upto 200 delegates can be seated in the Trecastell Suite - which can also be transformed into a self-contained dinner dance venue, complete with its own bar –and stunning views and a 220-person capacity makes the Morgannwg Suite a particular favourite with wedding parties.

The Boardroom and Cowbridge Lounge allows 40 guests to meet for a variety of purposes – from more relaxed meetings to private dinners.

Set within 650 acres of private parkland, the Vale Resort is the only one in the whole of the UK to boast the added attraction of a 60x50m indoor arena – a unique facility that proves extremely popular with businesses looking to inject something a little different to their corporate experiences.

The vast space – which is home to Wales' international rugby and football squads and has attracted teams including Arsenal and Manchester United – can be transformed into a conference venue that can accommodate up to 1500 seated delegates and is ideal for exhibitions as well as indoor team building events whatever the weather.

Mr Beddoe continued: “VisitWales and Cardiff Council have both reported a steady increase in the number of enquiries for conference venues to host 300+ delegates in and around Cardiff as the city gains better recognition as a major conference and visitor destination. Very few places are able to deliver on that and, in fact, there are only a handful of venues in the whole of Wales that can cater for corporate conferencing and entertaining at this level so it really will position the Vale as a major UK destination choice.

“With excellent motorway links - only fifteen minutes from the capital city, and within easy travelling distance of both Cardiff and Bristol airports - the Vale Resort has now established itself as a prime location for combining both business and pleasure, attracting leading national and international names, including L'Oreal and GlaxoSmithKline.”
